Charmain Johnson: Content Creator, and Producer

Charmain Johnson received her high school diploma for Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of The Arts, where she studied film and video. During her college years and received her bachelor’s degree in Communications specializing in film and video from Florida Atlantic University in 2005. In 2005 she also completed a short screenplay and was a finalist in BET’s RAP It Up Screenplay competition for her screenplay Victims, later re-titled Secrets. Johnson went on to make the short film in the summer of 2005. In 2006 Johnson completed the project Beyond Black and White: Perspectives on Skin Shades in the African Diaspora, which explores the issue of different shades of skin, tones in the Black community. Sponsored by the Urban League of Palm Beach County and 1000 Black Women, the film has been screened several times at local venues. In 2007 Johnson completed the film Pieces of A love Affair, a short film about a woman who has to choose between her confused lover and her own standards and beliefs. In August of 2008 Charmain and her business partner Kay Greene began conceptualizing the web based lesbian series The Lovers and Friends Show that launched January 1st 2008. Since then the show has become widely popular, and screened at several different LGBT events and festivals and is now being distributed internationally by Wolfe Video. In addition to The Lovers and Friends Show, Johnson directed a documentary sponsored by the Palm Beach County Health Department entitled Silence is Death: Unheard Voices, which explores the relationship between HIV, homosexuality, and the relationship and the church in the African American community. In addition to her film career, Johnson also worked as a case manager for at risk teens and felt therefore compelled to create films of runaway teens, starting the first in a series entitled Runaways: Rayne’s Story.

 

Tae Daaz:  Content Creator, and Producer

Tae Daaz is a Florida native and a graduate from Everest University with an Associates of Science in Film and video. She is an experienced Director of Photography and producer. In addition to being apart of the creative team behind The Lovers and Friends Show she has worked on various productions including Magic City, as well as music videos with such artists as including Young Money’s Caskey and Yo Gotti. She has also worked on a variety of other short films including Runaways and other and other documentaries, commercials and music videos. Her goal in the entertainment industry is to produce good content from movies, film and television. Tae Daaz joined The Lovers and Friends Show as a Director of Photography in season 4 and quickly teamed up with Creator Charmain Johnson and the duo formed a creative team, cranking out other projects such as Runaways, My So Called Family, and The Final Act.
